Vietnam faces significant challenges for its Christian population. The communist government imposes strict restrictions on Christian activities, closing half of the 600 church buildings that existed when they came to power. Despite these obstacles, church growth continues, with non-traditional Protestants and converts from indigenous religions often facing persecution. Buddhism remains the majority religion.

The church in Vietnam struggles with a shortage of well-translated material and a lack of support for pastors.
