Banteay Meanchey province remains critical and fragile following the intense military escalation that occurred between December 2025 and January 2026. While a ceasefire was negotiated in late December, the province is currently in a state of "unstable recovery." Banteay Meanchey is the hardest-hit province in terms of displacement. At the peak of the conflict in late December 2025, nearly 150,000 people in the province were forced to flee their homes.

Churches Without Walls: When Displacement Becomes a Mission Field

The body of Christ is also facing a season of intense trial. At least 18 churches have been displaced, with congregations unable to return to their places of worship, and many Christian families have been rendered homeless after their land was seized during the border conflict. Yet, even in the midst of this hardship, the Gospel is not silent. Nine pastors are currently living in refugee camps; despite their own loss, they continue to praise the Lord and are tirelessly sharing the love of Christ with the thousands of displaced souls surrounding them.

Seminar Reflection: Faith in the Midst of Conflict

"During this DPM seminar, we stood at a critical crossroads. Rather than allowing the atmosphere of fear surrounding the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict to dictate our narrative, we made a conscious decision to center our gathering on the unwavering faithfulness of the Lord. We dedicated significant time to sharing powerful personal testimonies, recounting how God served as our shield and high tower during recent tensions, leading His people to places of refuge and safety under His divine protection.

The seminar commenced with a powerful move of corporate praise, followed by a season of deep intercessory prayer, crying out for lasting peace and reconciliation between the two nations. Our curriculum was intentionally selected to fortify the believers’ foundations, utilizing core Derek Prince resources including Founded on the Rock; Authority and Power of God’s Word; Transmitting God’s Power; Faith and Works and At the End of Time.

As we transitioned into small group discussions, the atmosphere was charged with a hunger for truth. These sessions were not merely academic; they were moments of profound spiritual encounter. The Holy Spirit moved through the groups, providing fresh revelation and softening hearts to receive the Word. Participants left with a deepened understanding of how to apply God’s authority to their current trials, transforming a time of national crisis into a season of spiritual breakthrough.

Testimony

My name is Navy. I believed in God in 1997, where my family was the only Christian family in my village. During that time, my family faced strong persecution from the religious committee leader in our village. Before religious ceremonies, he would gossip about us and make announcements over the village loudspeaker, saying that because we believed in Jesus, we should move away to “Jesus’ land” and not live in “Buddha’s land.”  Those words caused deep pain. My family often cried, feeling rejected. Our hearts were heavy, and the suffering lasted many days.

In that season, I cried out to God in prayer. Instead of choosing hatred, God taught me to choose forgiveness. I learned to forgive those who persecuted us and to pray for them, asking God to help me love them the way Christ loves me.

One day, the man who had persecuted us became seriously sick. I decided to visit him. I showed him love and care, even though he had hurt my family many times. Through this experience, I truly understood forgiveness because Jesus first forgave me.

By God’s grace, that man accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Later, through him, his family and relatives, six families in total, came to believe in Jesus.

Derek Prince’s teaching books deeply impacted my life. I was reminded that forgiveness is not weakness; it is the power of God’s love. When we forgive as Jesus forgave us, God can transform pain into salvation and persecution into blessing.
