Mission and Impact
Cambodia, a Southeast Asian country with a rich history and a painful past, still faces significant challenges today. Despite the progress made since the Khmer Rouge era in the 1970s, many Cambodians continue to live in poverty, earning about $4 a day, with limited access to healthcare and education. Corruption is widespread, particularly in rural areas where help is needed the most.
As a predominantly Buddhist nation, over 83% of Cambodia's population practises Buddhism, while Christians make up only about 3.2%. Many of these Christians lack a strong understanding of their faith, and pastors often struggle with inadequate resources to guide their congregations. Internal divisions within the church further hinder the spread of the Gospel.
Derek Prince Ministries plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges by partnering with local communities to inspire and equip the next generation. Through events featuring music, teachings, and the distribution of Derek's materials, we aim to bring hope and the message of Jesus Christ to young Cambodians. Our outreach focuses on empowering youth, half of the population under 25, to grow spiritually and become future leaders in their communities.
