The DPM - Cambodia Team

For many months, a heavy quiet has hung over Preah Vihear province. Since the escalation of the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, travelers have been few and the roads have remained mostly empty. Yet, throughout this season of tension, the local church has never been far from our hearts. Through constant prayers and frequent phone calls to check on the safety of our brothers and sisters, we felt a deep stirring to finally hold a DPM pastors’ seminar in this resilient region.

As we traveled toward the border, the scars of conflict were visible. We passed homes that had been destroyed, a sobering reminder of the turbulence these families have endured. However, our hearts were not filled with fear, but with a warm greeting as family in Christ. We arrived with a clear mission: to remind the local leadership that they are not alone.

The response was truly miraculous. Despite the logistical challenges, 50 pastors representing 26 different churches across the province gathered together. Some traveled for over an hour on motorbikes along dusty, difficult roads just to receive the Word. Among them were leaders representing minority ethnic groups. In a beautiful moment of unity, we invited them to lead us in a special song. Hearing the praises of God sung in their indigenous languages was a powerful reminder of our vision: to see every corner of this nation—from the highest mountain peaks to the deepest valleys—hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our teaching focused on the Laying the Foundation series, specifically:

  • Founded on the Rock
  • Authority and Power of God’s Word
  • Faith and Works
  • At the End of Time

During our small group discussions, the atmosphere shifted from formal teaching to deep, personal sharing. We invited the Holy Spirit to reveal His promises to us, providing a spiritual anchor in these uncertain times. Even in the midst of conflict, the Word of God proved to be the “Rock” upon which these pastors are building a future of peace and hope for Cambodia.

Testimony

My name is Oh Pin.  I am a leader of the Light of Eternal Life Church in Preach Vihear province.

Five years ago, I believed in Jesus, but I was not fully committed to Him. My faith was weak, and my relationship with God was not strong. Then suddenly, I became very sick. I went to many doctors and spent a great amount of money seeking treatment, but nothing helped. My condition became worse. I lost a large amount of red blood, and eventually, I could not walk. I was confined to my bed, feeling weak and helpless.

During that time, I lost all hope. I thought my life was coming to an end and that I would not remain on this earth much longer.  But one day, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the Word of God, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened…” and “I have come that they may have life”.

At that moment, I realized that only Jesus Christ could truly help me. Doctors could not save me. Money could not heal me. Only Jesus could restore my life.  I humbled myself before God and asked my wife to invite the pastor and members of the church to come and pray for me. They gathered around my bed and prayed earnestly. After that prayer, something began to change. Little by little, my strength returned. Day by day, I grew stronger until I was completely healed.  It was not medicine. It was not human effort. It was the grace of God. The Lord healed me, restored my health, strengthened my faith, and called me to serve Him. From that experience, I fully surrendered my life to Jesus. Today, I am honored to serve as a church leader, not because of my own goodness, but because of His mercy and calling.

Recently, I attended a seminar held by Derek Prince Ministries-Cambodia. In our group, we studied the book Faith and Works. Through this teaching, my faith was strengthened even more. I clearly understood that we are saved by faith, not by works. God saves us by His grace, and then He calls us to do good works. We do not do good works to earn salvation, so there is no room for pride or boasting. Everything is by His grace.  I thank God for saving me, healing me, and calling me to serve Him. And I thank Derek Prince Ministries for strengthening my faith through the Word of God.  To God be all the glory.
