Day 259: Not My Righteousness

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” We have been justified by faith. My righteousness is not my own. It’s not the best I can do, it’s not my religious experiences. My righteousness is Jesus Christ. He has become righteousness for me. I have been justified. Why? Because the righteousness of Jesus, the sinless Son of God, has been imputed to me. I’m not standing before the Lord in my own righteousness. I’m not living the Christian life in my own righteousness. I am justified – just-as-if-I’d never sinned.
