Day 254: Stay Simple

“I fear lest somehow as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity and purity that is in Christ.” Stay simple. Don’t try to be too clever. In my opinion, stay away from theology. I don’t think we’re required to make a system out of the Bible. We’re required to find out what it teaches and live that way. You know why we make theology, because it’s too simple. We have to find a way round to explaining the simple commandments of the Bible. “Bless those who persecute you.” That’s not difficult to understand. There’s no complication in the message. The complication comes in our crooked human nature.
