“For who has stood in the counsel of the Lord and has perceived and heard His word, who has marked His word and heard it.” So the true prophet stands in the counsel of the Lord. This is a very vivid picture, because in an Oriental or Middle Eastern setting, the servant stood awaiting direction from his master. And he might stand two hours and nothing happens. Now very few people that I know are willing to stand two hours and hear nothing. The person whom God speaks to has to stand in the counsel of the Lord. That’s the spirit of a servant and there aren’t many.
