From small beginnings in 1996 with just two titles translated, we are excited to celebrate 30 years of Derek Prince Ministries in Nepal.
Ps. Gopaljee Adhikari has very ably led the ministry since its beginning and has overseen the translation of 95 Derek Prince book titles into Nepali. We are excited to advise that one million books have now been published and distributed across Nepal!!
As a DPM partner you have also played a vital role in helping us to reach this milestone and for this we thank you on behalf of the growing church in Nepal.
Ps. Gopaljee has told us that the name Derek Prince is known in almost all Christian homes across Nepal and many have read his books.

One recipient of Derek’s books wrote, “I have been serving the Lord in my own area for a couple of years. Somehow God led me to the teaching of Derek Prince while I was in Kathmandu for three months. I was so overwhelmed to learn from Derek's teaching. I have been teaching right from Derek's books Foundations for Life, Holy Spirit in You and Self Study Bible Course. Other pastors have borrowed these books from me. Derek's teaching is very Biblical and easy-to-understand; that is why most of the people who read one of Derek’s books like to read more of his material.”
Nepal is the poorest nation in south Asia and presents unique challenges for Christians, including persecution, anti-conversion laws and limited access to Christian resources. Despite these challenges, the Christian church in Nepal has experienced explosive growth over the past few decades, expanding from just a single secret believer in 1951 to between 1.5% and 2% of the population today (approximately one million committed Christians), and the church remains one of the fastest growing in the world.
False doctrines also pose a significant challenge, which is why we are continuing to translate, print and distribute Derek’s Bible teaching from our three distribution centres in Kathmandu, Itahari and Pokhara. This Bible teaching is a lifeline to pastors, Christian leaders and believers alike, as illustrated by one pastor who wrote to Gopaljee advising, “I am very thankful for Derek's books. A friend who visited Pokhara gave them to me and included Rediscovering God’s Church, The Foundation series and others. This teaching blessed us a lot. I went to Bible school, but we were not taught these wonderful truths.
I believe it is God's will for Nepali Christians to have Derek’s teachings. There are so many great titles by Derek that we are blessed with, including topics on the Holy Spirit, the old and new man, and curses and blessings. I greatly feel that all the pastors and believers should know and experience Derek’s teaching which is simple and understandable”.
Much has been accomplished over the past 30 years, but we recognize the need to keep pushing forward. We are currently printing 13 titles, for a total of 45,000 books and plan to print at least 27,000 more this year. These books will also be distributed across Nepal to pastors, Christian leaders and Bible school students who will not only benefit greatly from them personally, but will use them to teach and disciple many believers.
