In 1983, while on a sabbatical, Derek and Ruth Prince felt called to refocus their ministry. Derek reflected on the ripeness of the spiritual harvest, a call grounded in Revelation 14:14-16, urging him to act swiftly before the harvest would be lost. Derek shared, “I believe the reaping is going to be tremendously intense, very swift… I have this sense of urgency.”
Derek’s response to this calling became the foundation for what we now call the Global Leaders Outreach Program (GOLP). Although the ministry experienced a season of financial difficulty, Derek decided to reach pastors and leaders in areas with limited access to Christian resources and offer them his Bible teachings for free.
A small library
When the GOLP in Southern Africa was discontinued due to the rising costs and problems with shipping, Graduate Gift Packs for Bible School Graduates were introduced. Graduates are gifted with a small library of Derek’s teaching for their future ministry. With a dearth of Christian teaching material, this pack was a huge blessing. Many lives were saved, healed, and delivered by simply applying the teaching!
It was sometimes quite a challenge to get the packs delivered to various countries, like Kanikia Bible School in Ndola, Zambia. The founder, Peter Pedersen from Denmark, was a friend of Derek’s. The Lord was faithful and always made a way.
Mission Exposure and Training
Additionally, we support pastors who come down from French-speaking countries in Africa to complete a MET (Missions Exposure and Training) in Pretoria. These pastors oversee a large number of churches. We provide them with a set of 10 hours of Derek’s Foundation Series DVD teaching in French, the Self Study Bible Course, and a selection of French books by Derek Prince.
