The Importance of Endurance

I’d like to read some words from the Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy. He’s writing to Timothy, he says in chapter 4 verse 9, “Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me. For Demas hath forsaken me having loved this present world, and departed unto Thessalonica – Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me.” Right at the end some of his closest co-workers left him in prison. What did they lack? Endurance. What marked the apostle? Endurance. That comes before the miracles. Some people have miracles but no endurance.
