I met a Swedish missionary who’d worked in France for many years, and he told me that he had visited a prison near Marseilles in the south of France where the French Huguenots, the Protestants of that time, had been imprisoned for their faith. Many of them had gone into that dungeon and never come out alive. And he said somebody amongst them had engraved one single word, which was in résister or in English resist. That was his message to the others who were to follow him. Don’t give in. Resist! And I really believe that God is speaking those words to us.
